Founded as a charity in 2012
In partnership with forward-thinking entrepreneurs, Synaptic Spinal Cord Injury and Neurological Rehabilitation Centre was created to fill a gap for services for people living with spinal cord injuries, stroke, tutors, and progressive neurological conditions, such as Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease.
Located in a 6, 000 square-foot space constructed using the principles of Universal Design, Synaptic Health showcases an environment without limitations; enabling clients to explore their physical potential in a space tailored to enhance ability, independence and function.
YOUR TEAM
The right people in your corner can help you achieve anything. Our team wants everyone that comes through our doors to leave feeling empowered, determined, and strong.
Although we come from unique backgrounds and skill sets, we are all strong champions for our client’s health, well-being, and rights. Our team works collaboratively to come up with a treatment plan based on your specific needs and recovery goals.
Volunteer Application
Our Synaptic team is made up of individuals who are passionate about shaping the future of rehabilitation and caring for those living with neurological conditions.
Whether you are an event guru, fundraising Einstein, or interested in helping our rehabilitation specialists, Synaptic relies on the talent and passion of our volunteers. Our volunteers have donated hundreds of hours to help us carry out our mission.
Student
Application
At Synaptic we pride ourselves as an organization dedicated to providing learning and research opportunities to students interested in the field of neurorehabilitation and technology.
We have welcomed many students to Synaptic from both local and international learning institutions. It's a great fit for you if you are currently enrolled in a Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Psychology, or Occupational Therapy program, and are interested in practicum or volunteer hours.
JOIN THE TEAM
Synaptic is derived from the Greek word meaning "to join together" and this is embedded in the culture of our facility. With a collaborative approach to rehabilitation, our team of neurological supportive practitioners work to promote healing, recover, and elevation of function.
