Individualized Neuro Rehab Program

At Synaptic we are grounded in the philosophy of treating the person and not the condition.

Through an integrated, research-based approach, using principles of neuroprotection, neurorecovery, and neuroplasticity, our Individualized Neuro Rehab Program is customized to meet your specific goals.  Combining our available Clinic Services and Therapeutic Technology, we treat below the level of injury, incorporating the science of Activity Based Therapy to conquer limitations.

Further to this, we also offer our supportive Care Navigation Consulting service to help our clients’ transition or resume their life activities in a safe, independent, and autonomous manner.

Additionally, our Virtual Village is a free resource featuring blog articles, videos, and community-based support through our forum.

Research Based

Research shows muscle training strengthens neuromuscular circuitry. It was previously thought the brain was static and that any damage sustained was irreversible. However, neuroscientists continually prove the rerouting of neurological connections is possible.

The human brain can change. Building on this knowledge, the Synaptic team helps clients forge connections that allow the brain and body to work concurrently to potentially reconnect and relearn functional movements.

Neuroprotection refers to creating a neuro supportive environment to prevent or slow disease progression and secondary complications.

Neurecovery is a process which aims to promote recovery from a nervous system injury, and to minimize collateral damage.

Neuroplasticity is the ability to undergo structural or physiological changes in response to new input and stimuli. Neuroplasticity builds new pathways for the brain and body to reconnect.

Treating Below the Level of Injury

Neurological injuries result in loss of motor control or sensation below the level of injury because of the damage to neural pathways. At Synaptic, we understand the value in rehabilitation that considers therapy below the level of injury. This encourages neuroplasticity and the ability of the nervous system to change its activity in response to intrinsic or extrinsic stimuli by reorganizing its structure, functions, or connections.

Activity Based Therapy

Through focused stimulation and purposeful movements, our brain has the potential to reorganize, reconnect, and relearn. Our approach to rehabilitation and therapy encourages the brain and body to create new pathways for better channels of communication.
